William Wyette was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend and a person who was deeply loved. He loved his family, he loved God, and his faith remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Like so many people, William's life wasn't always easy. He faced struggles that sometimes made the road ahead harder than it should have been. But those struggles were only one part of his story. They never defined the whole person we knew and loved.

William was also someone who could have benefited from exactly the kind of compassion we hope to put into the world through this foundation: someone noticing, someone caring, and someone stepping in at the right moment to say, "We see you. Let us help."

William died while in county jail after he did not receive medication he needed. His death left an enormous hole in our family and a choice about what we wanted to do with that loss.

"We chose to create something good."

The William Wyette Foundation exists to honor his life by showing up for people during difficult chapters of their own. Sometimes help is financial. Sometimes it's practical. Sometimes it's simply an act of kindness arriving at exactly the right time.

"We can't change William's story. But in his name, we can become part of someone else's."
